As soon as you see trouble coming

You are behind but have not received a notice
Before you are 120 days behind
Ask your servicer for a loss mitigation application and send everything it asks for. A HUD-approved counselor can help you fill it out. Apply early for advice through Legal Aid of West Virginia: Apply for Help.

The same day; the cure period can be as short as 10 days
Call Legal Aid of West Virginia at 866-255-4370, which provides free civil legal help to eligible West Virginians, including foreclosure defense. For lending abuse or a sale scheduled while a modification was pending, also contact Mountain State Justice.
